In the Kitchen

You all know by now that Dan is the cook in this house. Well last week he had an accident in the kitchen so I had to come to the rescue and take over dinner. Luckily I still had his guidance.

We marinated the chicken breast in a mustard vinaigrette.

The finished dish.

This is the dish he was preparing when he had the accident.
I finished prepping the dish (CAREFULLY cutting and cooking the veg) and he helped layer the dish.
It's a Tomato, Zucchini and Potato Gratin, topped with Parmesan cheese.
Yummy.

The mandoline that Dan sliced his thumb on while preparing the Gratin.
He was in a hurry, not paying attention and acting silly and singing while he was cutting.

The guard he decided not to use.
I guarantee you he will use it from now on.

He bled for awhile and we thought that he might need stitches, but fortunately it stopped bleeding. Yes, my hubster is accident prone, but he doesn't like to admit it. :)

Ouch! I hope his thumb heals quickly. At least the dish still looks yummy. =)

Ouch!! I've definitely done that before and it hurts.

On the plus side, that Tomato, Zucchini and Potato Gratin looks so good. I'm literally drooling over here. I'm going to have to try to make it. Recipie?
