Saying Goodbye to 2010

2010 definitely had its highs and lows.

Some of the best parts of 2010 were Dan's first feature film being made and getting to see my girlfriends (Kirsten, Amber, Dani, Janine, Lisa and Shelby)!

I know 2011 will bring more ups than downs. :) But I'll say this, as long as I have my amazing husband by my side, great parents, 2 precious chihuahuas and wonderful girlfriends in my life every year will be fabulous.

Our Foodie Besties

It's not often that you meet a person or another couple who you just click with. It's amazing when you meet people on the web then come to find out you love the same things; mainly food, desserts, eating and being adventurous when it comes to food and willingness to try new things, but also just a similar sense of humor and a lot of laughing! It's also pretty sad when those friends live across the pond and you only get to see them once a year. But I am extremely grateful that we are able to see each other once a year and that they are in our lives. We are lucky to have such great friends!

Kirsten and I met on a website while we were planning our weddings to our wonderful men. We met IRL (in real life) in May 2008 while D and I were honeymooning in London. Ever since then we have become great friends and fellow foodies. Kirsten and Barry are our foodie besties!

We've hung out in London, Houston and last month in Memphis!

Hmm I wonder where we'll gtg next year...

London, Salt Lake City, Napa Valley, Spain???

Girlfriends

I don't have many friends. Growing up I never had a lot of friends.

I had a couple of close girlfriends and I was a girl who had more guy friends than girlfriends.

While planning our wedding I met a lot of wonderful girls online. I have become extremely close to some and one day I hope to meet and become close to more of my lovely friends (you know who you are my lovely blog followers!). You girls are not "online friends", you are simply my friends.

I've known these ladies (Janine, Lisa, Amber, Dani & Shelby) for over 3 years, but had never met them in person. We've become close and they are the ones I immediately go to when I'm happy, sad, need support or when I just need a virtual ((HUG)). They are just as lovely and loveable in person as they are online. It's not fair that we live so far apart, but I'm extremely lucky to have them in my life.

Our trip to Chicago was fabulous and I can't wait to see this group of ladies again in the future!

DW Knottie Gifts!

As most of you know I'm planning my wedding and I frequent TheKnot daily. Well on TK, my favorite board is the DestinationWedding board--the girls on there are the best!

Recently I participated in the Secret Santa DW knottie ornament exchange and I received these two ceramic Italian ornaments below from Claire. Aren't they cute?!

I also have a date twin (which is someone who shares the same wedding date as you). Tori gave us 2 wooden spoons and 1 spatula for Christmas (they were off my registry)--she's the sweetest!
While everyone was receiving ornaments on the DWboard and posting their ornaments for everyone to see. I saw one that caught my eye, it was an engagement ornament---it was so adorable I asked the knottie if she could buy me one and I'd send her the money. She offered to go to the mall and buy one for anyone who wanted one, she's the best! Thanks Lisa! I love it! It looks like my ring that also came in a blue box. :)
