3 months ago D and I were married!

UPDATE: We did receive our pictures today! The UPS man just delivered them. They look fabulous. I will post them soon! Yay-my frown has been turned upside down! :-)

And we still don't have any professional pictures. :-(

On the day that we shot our "day after pics" the photographer told us he would have them ready in 45 days.
A couple of weeks ago the photographer had finally responded to my email (after several emails from me asking where my pictures were) and said that he would be sending the pictures out on Monday, July 21st. Well, one week later and we still have no pictures.

These pictures better be his best work ever!

I'm so sad.

D's new toy

With some money we had left over on a Williams-Sonoma gift card, D bought the Kitchen Aid Food Grinder and the Sausage Stuffer Kit. He will now start grinding all of our meat.
Soon we will try to make sausage! Mmmm...I can't wait!

This ground pork was used to make hamburgers with apple, fennel and an apple glaze. They were so yummy!

The "kids" are in the bag!

Our "kids" know when we're going out of town.  They  mope around the house a few days before we leave.  On the day that we are leaving, Baby Dan will start jumping on my leg, trying to get me to pick him up.

The day that D and I were flying out for our destination wedding and honeymoon I was a total mess.  On one hand, I was completely thrilled to be leaving for Europe to marry my best friend.  And on the other hand, I was completely upset about leaving my two babies behind.  I cried too much that morning.  Baby Dan didn't make it easy for me either!  We had our bags downstairs and I was still packing a few items, so I had my bag open.  Well as I'm about to close the suitcase, Baby Dan jumps in my suitcase!  He wouldn't get out.  He kept jumping in and as I would try to close it, he'd just lay down in the suitcase as if it say, "Go ahead, I'm in, zip it up!".  He made me laugh and cry at the same time.  It was both hilarious and sad to see him do this.  :-)

The below pics were taken when we returned home from Europe, after being away for 17 days.  We unlocked the door, walked in and they were both sitting on the couch. They were completely shocked to see us.  After giving them lots of hugs and kisses, we opened our bags and guess where they go, straight to our suitcases!

My silly kids, I love them so much!  I guess they were trying to tell us that we were not going anywhere without them again.

My Birthday

A week ago today was my 29th birthday!  We had just returned from the farmhouse, we were tired from the drive so we just went out to eat with my parents.  D offered to bake me something different each day during the week.  Well that didn't happen, but on Saturday he made me a delicious strawberry cake with cream cheese icing!  He decorated it all my himself.  :-)

I had desperately been in need of a new Mac, so D bought me the new MacBook Air, some Cheetos that I'd been dying to try and he made me a cute card!

Just for fun, I thought I'd post this picture---4 years ago I received my iBook and some flowers from D and the seatbelt purse from my parents.  (sorry for the crappy pic)
I love my month of me!  ;-)

Baby Dan's Apartment

Okay, so do you remember Baby Dan's little hiding places (where he likes to hide or where we find him etc.)?  Well he's at it again.  Despite our efforts to keep him from getting in the entertainment center, he's still somehow getting in.  Now he's found a new place to go, so hopefully that will keep him away from the t.v. and cords!

Do you remember the new end table?

It is now Baby Dan's lil' apartment!
The first time we opened it, he quickly jumped in.

He hates it when his sister tries to get in and hurries to beat her to it.

He claims it.

We added his quilt to it, so now it's nice and comfortable.

My baby boy is spoiled!

D's step stool

From all of the things we received from my in-laws, this was by far the best! My mother-in-law had this in her closet. It's a step stool that was D's when he was a little boy. If you look closely, you can see his name. She also meant to give me his baby blankets, but we forgot them. I don't know why the little boy has yellow/blonde hair though. :-)

New additions to the house

My in-laws moved out of their house a few weeks ago and had some stuff that they either didn't want anymore or didn't have a place for in their new condo, so they offered us some things. Below are just a few pics of some of the items we brought to our home!

This is a church pew. I know it's weird, but it works.
The church pew and the modern grandfather clock make great entry way pieces!
Sorry for the weird pic, I was trying to get a full shot of the front.
Close-up
This is a end table that has storage space inside
Because D is a filmmaker, he got first dibs on these classic movie posters.

This is just a nice extra piece we picked out, but don't really have a set place for it right now.
This chair is wonderful! It reclines and is so big and oh so comfy.
This lovely armoire!
Adding the leather chair and armoire really added some warmth into our room. Now it's cozy, just the way a bedroom should feel!
Weights (The Block)
And 1 of the 2 matching lamps!
And the most special things we got was D's grandparent's 8 mm projector and films!
